Carmarthenshire language profile

Census 2021 data is the main source of information on the position of the Welsh language in Wales. The document ‘Welsh Language Report Census 2021’ analyses figures for Welsh speakers, Welsh speakers’ levels of confidence, levels of language transmission in the home and much more, with attention given to community level by ward within the county. The document provides an invaluable foundation for language planning work within the county. The findings are used to inform language planning and the implementation of Carmarthenshire’s Welsh Language Promotion Strategy.
