Non-Domestic Rates Relief
Page updated on: 01/04/2026
In 2026-27, The Non-Domestic Rates Relief for Food and Drink Hospitality Rates Relief scheme will provide rate relief to eligible businesses in the food and drink hospitality sector only, for example pubs, restaurants, cafes, bars and live music venues.
Eligible ratepayers will receive 15% non-domestic rates relief in 2026-27. As with similar temporary support in previous years, the relief will be capped at £110,000 per business across Wales.
All businesses are required to make a declaration when applying to individual local authorities, confirming that the amount of relief they are seeking across Wales does not exceed this cap. The relief will be awarded using the discretionary powers of local authorities, following applications from eligible ratepayers after 1 April 2026.
