Emergency funding and assistance

We are offering both practical and financial support to homes and businesses that have been affected.

We can assist with the removal of damaged furniture and goods, however please contact your insurance company for advice and guidance before you remove damaged furniture or goods from your household.

A hardship emergency fund has been set up for residents and eligible business affected by internal flooding. However, your insurance company should be the first point of contact, and they should guide you on their support and requirements. 

Households that have been internally flooded can apply for a £500 payment.

A further £1000 can be made available to for those householders without insurance.

Officers of the Council will need to visit those properties affected by internal flooding and applications will be checked against council tax register and electoral roll to verify the householder.

A grant is available for eligible businesses that have suffered internal flooding of their business premises of up to £5000.

The grant will be available to assist private & third sector enterprises to recover from flood damage.

Applications will be verified by the business support team in the Council.
