Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Carmarthenshire’s extensive programme of events and festivals is a vital component to our vibrant community life and local economy. Unfortunately, this sector has been particularly hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic and will continue to be affected by restrictions, not only financially but in what makes an event special: people gathering together and enjoying activities to promote a sense of unity.

The process for making events COVID-safe will be challenging for organisers, and audiences will need to change the way they experience them. This is a changing situation and should the risk level change in Carmarthenshire, additional advice or instruction may be issued. If you are due to hold an event and you want to talk to us about it, e-mail marketingandmedia@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

Although the pandemic and associated legislation has led to the cancellation and/or postponement of so many events (small community xmas fayres to international renowned festivals), we appreciate that many are making plans for 2021 and beyond, exploring alternative and thinking outside the usual event “box” for solutions

Whatever your event’s size, type or context never has the old adage “fail to plan, plan to fail” been more apt as event organising is notoriously multi-dimensional especially those planned for the open air of Carmarthenshire! We have prepared a stage by stage set of guidelines to aid you in your event planning, which will give a firm foundation to any organiser.

Some matters such as road closures and licensing are subject to time constraints, so we welcome dialogue as early as possible. Email us via marketingandmedia@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
