Why are we consulting
We’re developing new placemaking plans to help shape the future of our town centres and we want your ideas to be at the heart of them.
Our previous Recovery Masterplans were created during a time of urgent need in a climate which was coming out of a global pandemic.
Now, four years later as our communities move forward, we’re taking a fresh look at how our town centres can thrive in the long term. The new Placemaking Plans will focus on creating vibrant, welcoming places that support local businesses, celebrate our heritage, and meet the needs of local residents and visitors alike.
Your views will help us understand what matters most to you, whether it’s better public spaces, improved transport links, more events, or something entirely new. This is your chance to influence the future of your town and get your views heard.
How to get involved
We invite you to share your feedback via the online form.
The survey asks about your experiences of the town centres, what you’d like to see improved, and what kinds of changes would make the biggest difference to you. Whether you live, work, shop, or visit our primary towns, we want to hear from you.
The survey will ask you which towns you would like to provide feedback for, you may wish to respond for one, or even all three. You can provide feedback for all three towns within the same survey if you wish – just make sure you click the relevant town(s) at the start.
We do not require your personal data, but we would like to know a little bit about you so we can get a good sense of who is contributing to the surveys to ensure we’re not missing anyone.

In-person events
If you’d prefer to speak with a member of our team directly, we’ll also be holding a series of in-person public consultation days in town centres across Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli. These are informal drop-in events where you can speak directly with our officers, share your thoughts, and learn more about the placemaking plans.
It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, raise ideas, and have your say in shaping the future of your local area. Everyone is welcome. Just pop by and chat with us!

Next Steps
Information will be taken from these consultation sessions and surveys to be collated into initial findings. We will then work with our Placemaking Consultant to simplify the detail we have collated to provide draft plans for consideration by the stakeholders of each town. A follow up session will be announced and more detail on how you can keep involved will be provided.
