We offer a range of interventions to support children change their offending behaviour.
Children who are involved with the Youth Justice Team can be referred to our Youth Justice Substance Misuse Service.
We provide support, education, guidance and harm reduction advice to children who have substance misuse issues.
We can also give advice and information for parents/carers.
Children can receive support with their Education, Training and Employment.
This can include providing support and guidance to children at in school, colleges, employment and alternative curriculum projects.
We also link in with other organisations who offer guidance or education support.
Thinking and Behaviour
This includes interventions such as developing empathy and understanding the effects of children’s behaviour on others, listening and communicating with children about their feelings and worries, helping with problems of anger and aggression.
Offensive Weapons/Knife-related crime
To engage children in work to reduce the harm caused by carrying weapons.
Fire awareness
Children may referred to the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service so that their awareness of fire related risks are improved. This includes programmes such as Crimes and Consequences and The Phoenix Project.
Car-related crime
To engage children in educational work related to car crime
Alcohol-fuelled violence
Children who have committed violent offences can take part in Paul’s Pledge programme. This programme allows children to understand the potential consequences of violence towards others.
Harmful sexual behaviour
We support children who display harmful sexual behaviour by working with the presenting concerns and developing safety plans, we develop understanding of the law (including sexting and cyber bullying).
Emotional and Mental Health
We also support children with their emotional and mental health needs and can work with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and services such as ‘Iechyd da’.
