Direct Food Support Fund

The objective of the fund is to support initiatives that tackle food poverty within Carmarthenshire. This fund is solely a capital fund and aimed at supporting an increased number of people facing food poverty by extending community food production and provision across Carmarthenshire.

Examples of eligible purchases include:

  • Kitchen Furniture - e.g. Kitchen Cabinets, Units, Worktops
  • Fridges and freezers
  • Cooking equipment - e.g. Cookers, Slow Cookers
  • Kitchen equipment
  • Storage for dried/canned goods
  • Community Growing Projects

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.

Organisations can apply for a maximum of £5,000 and a minimum of £1,000 up to 100% of total project costs. Match funding is not required.

The fund is open for applications from 18 April 2024 with a deadline for submission of 5pm on 8 May 2024. Applications will then be assessed and if successful, projects will be able to commence from the end of May 2024.
