Counter Terrorism

The UK Government’s Counter Terrorism strategy is called CONTEST and is divided up into four strands:
- Pursue: to stop terrorist attacks
- Protect: strengthen overall protection against terrorist attacks
- Prevent: to stop people becoming terrorists and supporting violent extremism
- Prepare: where we cannot stop an attack, mitigate its impact
Report it
Are you worried about someone who is showing signs that concern you? You can report any worries you have about someone vulnerable to any of the following organisations: -
- Council:
- for children - ring 01554 742322 or email CRTChildren@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
- for adults - ring 0300 333 2222 or email adultsafeguarding@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
- Police: ring 101 or you can report online at www.dyfed-powys.police.uk/en/prevent
- Crimestoppers: anonymously on 0800 555 111 (Free 24/7) or crimestoppers-uk.org
- Fearless: Young people can report anonymously through Fearless.org
If you want to report suspicious terrorist activity Call 999 if you suspect an immediate danger. For all other activity, call the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789321 or 101.
