Renters Rights Act 2026

We are updating all occupation contracts to ensure they comply with the new Renters Rights Act 2026.

Key changes in the legislation include:

• New legal protections for contract holders who receive benefits.
• Any existing contract terms that exclude families will no longer apply under the updated law.

These changes will not affect rent levels, tenancy types, or any existing rights. No action is required from contract holders. A formal variation letter will be issued to all affected households.

These changes have been planned by Welsh Government for some time and have been scrutinised and supported by tenant organisations such as TPAS Cymru and Shelter Cymru.
