RADAR keys - public toilets for people with disabilities
The National Key Scheme (NKS) offers disabled people independent access to around 9,000 locked public toilets around the country. The key can be purchased by anyone with a permanent disability. You will need to bring evidence to support this. Examples of suitable evidence include; Blue Parking Badge, a hospital/GP letter, letter referring to the payment of Disability Living Allowance or other disability benefit.
There is also a form to be filled in, which can be downloaded, regrettably, we are unable to accept this form by email because it must have a signature. Please print the form, sign it and bring it with you when you make your application.
Alternatively, forms can be obtained in person from any of our customer service centres. Keys can be purchased in person, or by someone on your behalf, at our customer service centres. If someone is coming on your behalf, they will need to bring your completed form and evidence with them to show that they are acting for you.
RADAR keys for disabled people currently cost £4.70. You do not pay VAT if you declare you have a disability.
