The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 72/30 & 72/31 Pentre Awel, Llanelli) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2022
File Reference: HMD/HTRW-846
NOTICE is hereby given that Carmarthenshire County Council, on the 23rd day of November 2023, made an Order prohibiting any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along those lengths of footpath specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Notice.
The closure was necessary to maintain pedestrian safety during the construction of a new health and well-being hub.
The Order came into operation on the 25th day of November 2023 and was due to expire on the 24th day of April 2025. However, the construction of the new health and well-being hub has not completed along Footpaths 72/30 and 72/31, therefore the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, one of the Welsh Ministers, has, pursuant to Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991), consented to extend the closure by a further period of six (6) months.
The continuation of the Order by the said direction will mean that the temporary closure will continue in force until, and including, the 24th day of October 2025 or until the construction works have been completed.
The Alternative Route is specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this Notice.
