Housing Land Supply
We are required by Planning Policy Wales to ensure that sufficient land is available, or will become available, for a five-year supply of land for housing. To demonstrate this, a Joint Housing Land Availability (JHLA) Study is prepared each year by the Study group. These studies:-
- monitor the provision of market and affordable housing;
- provide an agreed statement of residential land availability for development planning and control purposes; and
- set out the need for action in situations where an insufficient supply is identified. Further guidance on the studies can be found in Technical Advice Note (Wales) 1: Joint Housing Land Availability Studies.
