Construction Of A New Road Hump At The Junction of Picton Terrace And The Access Road To The Town Park, Carmarthen

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Carmarthenshire County Council (‘the Council’), in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called 'the Act') and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called 'the Regulations') in accordance with Section 90C(1) of the Act, and in accordance with Section 90C(2) of the Act, intends to construct a road hump in the form of a flat-top raised plateau, in compliance with the Regulations, on the access road leading to the town park in Carmarthen at its junction with Picton Terrace.
The location of the road hump is more particularly described in the Schedule to this Notice.
The proposed road hump will extend across the full width of the access road and will be in the form of a flat-top raised plateau, with the plateau measuring 4000 millimetres (4 metres) in length and 75 millimetres in height, in line with the tolerances permitted in the Regulations (where a hump should not exceed 100 millimetres in maximum height).
Full details of the proposal, together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for seeking to introduce this vertical measure, may be examined at the office of the Council’s Customer Service HWB located at Unit 22, St Catherine's Walk, Carmarthen SA31 1GA during the usual office hours.
