Construction Of New Road Humps – Station Road And Coalbrook Road, Pontyberem

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Carmarthenshire County Council (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Council’), in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act') and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Regulations') in accordance with Section 90C(1) of the Act, and in accordance with Sections 90C(2) and 90C(3) of the Act, intends to construct a series of new round-top road humps, in compliance with the Regulations, along Station Road and Coalbrook Road in Pontyberem.

The proposed locations of the road humps are more particularly described in the Schedule to this Notice and shown on the plan annexed to this Notice.

The round-top road humps will not extend entirely kerb-to-kerb and will have a curved top profile measuring 3700 millimetres (3.7 metres) in length. They will measure 75 millimetres in height, in line with the tolerances permitted in the Regulations (where a hump should not exceed 100 millimetres in maximum height).

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for seeking to introduce this vertical measure, may be examined at the offices of the Council’s Customer Service HWB located at:
