The County Of Carmarthenshire (C2053 Near Graig Yr Afar, Pontargothi) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the C2053 near the property Graig-yr-Afar, Pont ar Gothi (SA43 7NP) from a point 1.5 Kilometres North East of its junction with the TRA40 for a distance of 531 metres in a North Easterly direction.
The Order will extend the Temporary Emergency Closure imposed on the C2053 by virtue of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the 16th March 2026.
The Alternative Route for North East bound diverted traffic is to travel in a South Westerly direction via the C2053, the TRA40 Pont Cellyn, the C2054 Parc Henry, the C2055 New Cross, the C2056 Court Henry, the C2053 to return to a point North East of the closure. Vice Versa for South West bound diverted traffic.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The Order came in to force on Monday 6th April 2026 and will remain in place until 31st July 2026 whilst Carmarthenshire County Council carry out works due to a landslip.
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
