The County Of Carmarthenshire (Level Crossing, Church Road, Burry Port) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Carmarthenshire County Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Church Road, Burry Port from its junction with Heol Y Bardd for a distance of 40 metres in a northerly direction across the level crossing.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The Alternative Route for northbound traffic will be to proceed in an an easterly to south-easterly direction along Heol Y Bardd to its roundabout with the B4311. At the roundabout, take the first exit and continue in a north-easterly direction along the B4311 to its roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit and continue in a north-easterly direction along the B4311 to its roundabout. At the roundbout, take the first exit and contunue in a northerly direction along the B4311 to its roundabout with the A484, Pwll Road. At the roundabout, take the first exit and continue in a westerly direction along the A484 to its junction with Church Road. At the junction turn left and continue in a southerly direction along Church Road to return to a point north of the closure. Vice versa for southbound traffic.
The proposed closure is necessary to ensure public safety while Network Rail carry out works to decommission the current level crossing and then to allow construction works to build a new level crossing.
It is intended that the works will commence on Thursday the 30th October 2025 and continue for a period of 33 days until Monday the 1st December 2025.
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
