The County Of Carmarthenshire (Part Of The Class iii Road Leading From The A482 Pumsaint To Cwrt-Y-Cadno) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Carmarthenshire County Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that length of the Class III Road leading to Cwrt-Y-Cadno, commencing approximately 1.1km north-east of its junction with the A482 Pumsaint, for a distance of 240 metres in a north-easterly direction.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The Alternative Route for south-west bound traffic will be to proceed in a north-easterly direction along the Class III Road leading to Cwrt-Y-Cadno for a distance of approximately 4.4km. Upon entering the villlage of Cwrt-Y-Cadno, turn left at the junction adjacent to the chapel on to the Class III Road leading to Ffarmers. Continue along the Class III Road for a distance of 5.8km in a north-westerly then south-westerly direction, passing Bethel chapel and properties known as Parc Bach, Dyffryn and Maesbach Caravan Park, to enter into the village of Ffarmers to the junction opposite the Drovers Arms. At the junction, turn left onto Sarn Helen Road and continue south to the junction with the A482 Pumpsaint. Turn left onto the A482 and continue south again for a distance of approximately 3km to its junction with the Class III Road leading to Cwrt-Y-Cadno, signposted Dolau Cothi Gold Mines. Turn left on to the Class III Road to the next junction and take another left, continuing along the Class III Road to Cwrt-Y-Cadno to return to a point south of the closure.
The proposed Order will continue in force until Carmarthenshire County Council complete works to reconstruct a defective carriageway support.
It is intended that the works will commence on Monday the 3rd November 2025, for a period of six weeks.
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
