The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 50/34, Carmel) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2025
Reference: SLB/HTRW-902
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council on the 26th June 2025 made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along the length of Footpath 50/34, Carmel from its junction with the A476, Temple Bar for a distance of 227 metres in a generally north westerly direction.
The closure is required to ensure public safety while urgent works are carried out to repair an unsafe bridge along the route.
The Alternative Route is specified in the Schedule to this notice.
The Order came into force on the 27th day of June Two Thousand and Twenty Five and was due to expire after a period of six months, but the likelihood of danger to the public remains on the length of Footpath 50/34, Carmel, therefore the Cabinet Secretary for North Wales and Transport, one of the Welsh Ministers, has pursuant under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991) consented to extend the closure further. The continuation of the Order, by the said direction, will mean that the Temporary Closure Order will continue in force until, and including the 26th June 2026 or until there is no longer a likelihood of danger to the public.
