The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 50/34, Carmel) Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic Order 2025
Reference: PW/HTRW-902
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along the length of Footpath 50/34, Carmel from its junction with the A476, Temple Bar for a distance of 227 metres in a generally north westerly direction.
The Alternative Route is specified in the Schedule to this notice.
The closure is necessary to ensure public safety while urgent works are carried out to repair an unsafe bridge along the route.
This closure is a continuation of the Temporary Emergency Closure imposed on the Footpath under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and made on the 5th June 2025.
Where appropriate, temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding six months unless the Welsh Government give a direction under Section 15(5) of the 1984 Act to extend the duration of the closure.
SCHEDULE
The Alternative Route for northbound pedestrians from a point immediately to the south of the closure will be to proceed along the A476, Temple Bar in a north easterly direction to its junction with the C2151and turn left at the Temple Bar Inn to continue along the C2151 in a westerly direction to a point immediately north of the closure.
The Alternative Route for southbound pedestrians from a point immediately north of the closure will be to proceed along the C2151 in an easterly direction to its junction with the A476 and turn right at the Temple Bar Inn to continue along the A476 in a south westerly direction to a point immediately south of the closure.
