The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 51/120 (Part), Blaenau Road, Llandybie) Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic Order 2023
File Reference: HMD/HTRW-844
NOTICE is hereby given that Carmarthenshire County Council, on the 23rd day of October 2023, made an Order prohibiting any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along that length of Footpath 51/120 (Part) from the site entrance off Blaenau Road, crossing the bridge, then following the track in a generally westerly direction to the junction with Footpath 51/O/36.
The closure was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, caused by a dangerous bridge structure.
The Order came into operation on the 25th day of October 2023 and was due to expire after a period of six (6) months, but the likelihood of danger to the public remains along Footpath 51/120 (Part), therefore the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, one of the Welsh Ministers, has, pursuant to Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991), consented to extend the closure by a further period of six (6) months.
The continuation of the Order by the said direction will mean that the temporary closure will continue in force until, and including, the 24th day of October 2025 or until there is no longer a likelihood of danger to the public.
The Alternative Route is to follow Blaenau Road in a south-westerly direction, then turn northwards along Footpath 51/O/32 to the original path.
