The County Of Carmarthenshire (The U5524 Pencader) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026
Reference: SLB/HTTR-1998
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the U5524 Pencader, from its junction with the B4336 Llanllwni for a distance of 435 metres in a south easterly direction.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The Alternative Route for south east bound traffic from a point north west of the closure is to travel in a north easterly direction along the B4336 Llanllwni, to its junction with the A485 New Inn. At the junction, turn right and continue in a south westerly direction along the A485 New Inn to return to a point south east of the closure. Vice Versa for north west bound diverted traffic.
The proposed Order will continue in force whilst works are carried out on behalf of BT Openreach to complete cabling and jointing tasks.
It is intended that the works commence on Wednesday 18th February 2026 to Tuesday 24th February 2026 (week day working only).
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
