Carmarthenshire County Council Order Under Section 21 Of The Town Police Clauses Act 1847 For The Prevention Of Obstruction
Reference - HTTR - 1985
On Saturday 6th December 2025, for the Llanelli Christmas Parade, the following streets will be
thronged and liable for obstruction.
- Between the hours of 06:00 and 17:00:
a) Bridge Street, Llanelli (in its entirety) - Between the hours of 11:30 and 12:30:
a) Mincing Lane from its junction with Water Street to its junction with Market Street,
Market Street, Park Street, Island Place, Park Eynon (in their entirety), Cowell Street
from its junction with John Street to its junction with Stepney Street, and Stepney
Street (in its entirety)
The alternative route for north-west bound traffic traveling along Cowell Street will be to
proceed in a south-westerly direction along John Street to its junction with Station Road and to
return to a point south-west of the closure.
The CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL pursuant to powers conferred by section 21 of the
town police clauses act 1847 DOES HEREBY ORDER AND DIRECT that for the purpose of
preventing obstruction on the above mentioned roads, shall be closed to all vehicular traffic
including pedal cycles between the hours indicated above on Saturday 6th December 2025
subject to emergency service vehicles being allowed access to the street without delay in the
event of an emergency.
This order will not prevent any person from causing any vehicle to proceed or to wait on or in the
said lengths of road referred to therein if the vehicle is being used for fire brigade purposes or an
ambulance or a vehicle in the service of a police force in any such case being used in pursuance
of statutory powers or duties.
Any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a
vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said lengths of road described in this
Order during the said hours on the said days shall obey the direction of the said police
constable, and of any other police constable in uniform, PCSO or other authorised person.
