Working With the Welsh Language
We recognise the importance of promoting and supporting the use of the Welsh language at Pentre Awel.
A dedicated Welsh Language Impact Assessment was undertaken during the early stages of the project detailing how Pentre Awel could have a social, economic and cultural impact on the Welsh language.
This resulted in a Welsh Language Action Plan which considers how Pentre Awel can support Welsh Government’s strategy Cymraeg 2050: A Million Welsh Speakers and the Council’s Welsh Language Promotion Strategy by:
(i) increasing the number of Welsh speakers;
(ii) increasing the use of Welsh; and
(iii) creating favourable conditions for the Welsh language.
