The project will provide specialist business support to communities across Carmarthenshire, helping them to take ownership of their economic future through social entrepreneurship and community wealth building. It will support the creation of a pool of tender ready service suppliers that will create social value, helping them to diversify and upskill in accessing public service opportunities. The funding will support a social business consultant and market development adviser to host a series of online training sessions, face-to-face networking, peer development and community hackathons to develop commercial opportunities into business ideas which will lead to employment and economic growth in the local area.

Working with public sector bodies and local communities in Carmarthenshire, the project intends to identify supply chain voids and opportunities to develop social businesses to maximise local spend and social value. The project will support SMEs and social enterprises to work with the public sector and will be crucial to create jobs and tackle poverty in Carmarthenshire.
