Joining is easy you can register online with a few simple details or phone one of our three main libraries where one of our team will provide you with a temporary library card and PIN number. Using the click, collect, deliver service is easy. You must be a library member to use the service.
- Log in to the online library and reserve your books.
- Once we've held them for you, you'll receive an email / SMS notifying you that the items are available to pick up from Carmarthen, Ammanford, Llanelli, Llwynhendy, Burry Port or Llandeilo.
- If you're unable to collect your books you can also choose to have them delivered. Please note, it may take longer to receive your books if you choose this option.
When visiting the libraries, people will be expected to follow the guidelines which includes controlled entry numbers and timed sessions.

We are taking a phased approach to the re-introduction of our libraries to ensure the safety of staff and visitors. There is a lot of work involved to make sure the necessary social distancing measures are in place. We are working hard to offer as many of our library services as possible, your patience is really appreciated at this time.
We will continue to review the situation and update our website with information on when you’ll be able to visit your nearest library.
Don’t forget if you’re unable to get to Carmarthen, Ammanford or Llanelli you can request books to be delivered to your home.
You can reserve up to 20 items, including books and audiobooks. However, at this time we ask that you limit your items to 10 to ensure we can deliver the service to as many people as possible.

Delivery staff will not enter your property. We will leave books outside your door or in a designated safe place, and they will be collected without any physical contact between customers and library staff. You will need to be at home when we do this, so we know that the books have been safely received.
Hand sanitiser will be available at the collection and drop off points.
All books will be quarantined for 72 hours on return before they can be released for re-issue.
As soon as your book selection has been processed and a delivery slot made available, we will inform you of the date and approximate time of delivery.
Please note, it may take longer to receive your books if you choose this option. If you’re able to collect your books, we’d recommend you do this.
Deliveries will be Monday – Friday with a pre-arranged time slot between 9-5pm.
Yes, we will bring your books in a bag to your doorstep and wait at a safe distance for you to receive your delivery.
You can download e-books and e-audio books from BorrowBox or RBDigital from our digital library as part of your library membership.
- Go to the Zinio website and login, you can browse the full collection or search for a specific magazine
- Click on the magazine you would like to read and click "Checkout" to read it online.
- To read it offline you can download the RBDigital app for iPad / Android.
- You can also choose to receive email notifications of when the next edition is available to read/download.
- Join the library if you are not already a member.
- Go to the Zinio e-Magazines website and click Create New Account
- Enter your library card number, PIN number and personal details and click "Create Account".
- You can change your preferences and set up notifications for e-Magazines by clicking on the icon at the top right-hand side of the website.
The eBook service allows 3 days for the eBook to be downloaded at which point the eBook is offered to the next reservation or returns to the eBook stock to be accessed by other users.
For PC/ MAC users and all readers compatible with Digital Restrictions Management (DRM), the eBooks are downloaded using the standard eBook software Adobe Digital Editions.
The first time you try to download an eBook you will be prompted to download and install Adobe Digital Editions if this software is not already on your PC/MAC.
No, if you have not finished with the eBook, you can download it again if there are no reservations attached to the eBook. If there are reservations then you will need to add your details to the reservation list and you will be notified when the eBook becomes available for you to loan.
The eBook is for a loan period of 21 days at which point the eBook will expire and will no longer be readable on your PC or eBook reader. The eBook then becomes available for another user to download.

- Follow the instructions on screen and create an account using your library card.
- Browse the collection 24/7 by title, author or category. Preview titles before borrowing. Confirm your choice or reserve a title for later.
- Download your title instantly or at any time during the loan period. When reserved titles are ready for downloading you will receive an email to your registered address (updated via "My Account").

Yes, the eBook service allows you to reserve an eBook which has already been downloaded. If you wish to include your email address with the reservation you will be alerted as soon as the title becomes available.

Please contact the relevant library to book your session. To comply with social distancing guidelines, there are limited numbers of computers available and therefore only one 50-minute session is allowed per customer each day.
Ammanford library offers 3D printing by appointment only.
Ask a Librarian is an enquiry service that will help customers locate relevant information and resources (online or printed) on a range of topics, such as the local community, the county and wider issues, local history (including local newspapers), and genealogy. Ask a Librarian will access reference library collections as well as digital resources and websites to deal with enquiries, and will answer by phone or e-mail. If we are unable to answer the query ourselves, we will do our best to signpost customers to other organisations or further points of contact.

Unfortunately you will not be able to use the onboard iPads but you will still have access to its Wi-Fi via your own device.
Our mobile library will continue to visit all previous locations, however to ensure we maintain social distancing you will NOT be able to go onboard the van.
