Tyisha is changing - Looking for a development partner

2. Llanelli is changing

We are committed to the development of Llanelli as a great place to live and work. The regeneration of Tyisha is central to this due to its location; providing an important link between the town centre and the multi-million-pound Pentre Awel project.

By investing heavily in Llanelli town centre, we want to make it place where people want to live and work by bringing empty shops back into use and creating much-needed new homes.

The landmark Pentre Awel development will put Llanelli on the map bringing together business, research, education, community healthcare and modern leisure facilities all at one prime location along the coastline.

Improvements to the area also include the regeneration of Llanelli Goods shed, introducing new cycle routes, improving the environment and increasing the accessibility of Llanelli’s train station. These projects will help to create a sense of place, make the most of Llanelli’s heritage and strengthen the connectivity between the town centre, Pentre Awel, the costal path and Tyisha.

These extensive developments are central to delivering Llanelli’s future. The area is well served by strategic road and rail links, with Llanelli’s railway station and the coastal link road serving the area at the southern end of the development site. The railway station is identified for investment in the current Transport for Wales plans for 2023. The link road provides access to the M4 via the A4138 or the A484.

A state-of-the-art primary school, Ysgol Pen Rhos, has also been developed and we want to build on this commitment to work with the community to improve both Station Road and the surrounding area. This is a key part of our strategy to secure a vibrant future for the town.
