Carmarthenshire offers extensive opportunities for innovation in assisted living and Health and Care technology development. New infrastructure, including a ‘dispersed living laboratory’ being developed as part of the forthcoming Pentre Awel site, has the potential to accelerate the advancement of digital health technologies. This project will create an ecosystem of business, health, academic, and public sector collaborations, the results of which will deliver health benefits for Wales and significantly enhance the local economy.

The project aims to help establish Carmarthenshire as the location of choice for innovators and indigenous / inward investors to develop and scale their assisted living innovations. A pipeline of projects will be established including testbeds, trial development and delivery. Innovation Officers will broker engagement with patient and citizen groups to ensure project activity remains aligned to healthcare and market needs, and to best inform the innovation opportunities.
