Assisted Waste Collection

If you or someone you know struggle to put their waste and recycling out for collection, we may be able to help with an assisted waste collection closer to their property. An application is required and an assessment of the property before the service can be provided.

To qualify the person requiring the service must:

Have a mental or physical condition due to ill health, age or disability that prevents them from taking their waste containers or bags to their collection point.
Live on their own or with others that are also unable to take their waste to a collection point, due to the same reasons stated above.
Have no support from family, friends, or others able to assist in putting their waste out for collection.

When you apply, you will need to upload supporting documents in relation to the applicant/s. This could include the following if applicable to the person or persons needing the service:

A copy of the applicant’s Blue Badge.
An award letter for higher rate disability living allowance or a PIP award letter.
A medical letter stating the applicant is registered blind or partially sighted.
A Doctor's letter showing a diagnosis of a severe mental Illness.
A copy of the applicant’s council tax bill or letter (showing a single occupancy discount)
An appointment letter from a consultant/specialist in relation to a condition that affects the applicants ability to carry their waste out for collection.

To find out how Carmarthenshire County Council uses the personal data collected in this form, please read our Privacy Notice.  If approved, we will contact you every 3 years to check the assistance is still required and advise on what you need to do. You can also apply for assistance due to a temporary condition, for a period of 6 months.

If you are unable to complete the application yourself online, you can get someone else you trust to apply on your behalf, but they will need access to the relevant personal documents listed above.
