Project Overview
The development at Ysgol Y Felin, Llanelli constituted a physical regeneration of the existing primary school campus and Special unit. Providing a 4-11 age range community Primary School on the existing school site with capacity for 210 primary pupil places and 30 nursery places. A new Integrated Children’s Centre (ICC) and refurbishment of the existing Special unit was also part of the project. The project was carefully phased so that the existing school remained operational, preserving the safety of all school users on site throughout the construction period.
Project Cost
The project cost was £6.3m. Funded 76% by Welsh Government through its 21st Century Schools and Colleges Programme and 24% by the Local Authority’s Modernising Education Programme.
