Reference: HTTR 2070
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Carmarthenshire County Council (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Council’), in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Act') and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter referred to as 'the Regulations') in accordance with Section 90C(1) of the Act, and in accordance with Sections 90C(2) and 90C(3) of the Act, intends to construct road humps in the form of a raised plateau at various locations in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
The location of each road hump is more particularly described in the Schedule to this Notice and shown on the plan annexed to this Notice.
Two types of road humps are described in the Schedule:
▪ a raised plateau which extends across the full width of the carriageway, with the plateau measuring 3000 millimetres (3 metres) in length; and
▪ a raised plateau which extends across the full width of the carriageway, with the plateau measuring 6000 millimetres (6 metres) in length.
Both types of road humps will measure 75 millimetres in height, in line with the tolerances permitted in the Regulations (where a hump should not exceed 100 millimetres in height).
Full details of the proposal, together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for seeking to implement these vertical measures, may be examined at the office of the Council’s Customer Service HWB located at No.36 Stepney Street, Llanelli SA15 3TR during their usual office hours.
