Construction Of A New Road Hump At Eastern Road, Llanelli

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Carmarthenshire County Council (‘the Council’), in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called 'the Act') and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 90C(1)(a) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called 'the Regulations'), and in accordance with Section 90C(2) of the Act, intends to construct a road hump in the form of a round-top hump, complying with the Regulations, at Eastern Road in Llanelli.
The location of the road hump is more particularly described in the Schedule, and shown on the plan annexed, to this Notice.

The road hump described in the Schedule is a round-top hump which is not completely kerb-to-kerb, with a curved top profile measuring 3700 millimetres (3.7 metres) in length. The road hump will measure 75 millimetres in height, in line with the tolerances permitted in the Regulations (where a hump will not exceed 100 millimetres in maximum height).

Full details of the proposal, together with a plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for introducing this vertical measure, may be examined at the offices of the Council’s Customer Service HWB at No.36, Stepney Street, Llanelli SA15 3TR during the usual office hours.

Should you wish to object to the above proposal, please send your grounds for objection in writing to Steven Murphy, Head of Law, Governance and Civil Services at County Hall, Carmarthen SA31 1JP by the 24th July 2025, quoting the reference “HTTR-1921”.

Please note that all letters received may be considered in public by the Council and the content of the letters, together with the name and address of the person making it, could become available for public inspection.
