Public Notice The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpaths 62/19, St Ishmaels) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024
Reference: NFD/HTRW-861
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council on the 8th day of April Two Thousand and Twenty Four made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along that length of footpath 62/19, from a point west of the property known as 3 Portway, proceeding in a north-westerly direction along an enclosed alleyway for 54 metres to its junction with the Class III Road knows as Brigstocke Terrace.
The closure is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public caused by an unsafe wall.
The Order came into force on the 10th April 2024 and was due to expire after a period of six months, but the above described affecting the length of Footpath 62/19 hereinbefore referred to still remains as a risk to the public, therefore the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, one of the Welsh Ministers, has pursuant under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 consented to extend the closure, for a second time, by a further period of 6 months. The continuation of the Order, by the said direction, will mean that the Temporary Closure Order will continue in force until and including the 9th April 2025 or until there is no longer a risk to the public.
Any further extension will require the consent of the Welsh Ministers.
The Alternative Route from a point west of the property known as 3 Portway, is to continue in a general north-easterly direction for 43 metres to its junction with the Class III road known as Port Way. Turn left at the junction and proceed in a general easterly direction for 52 metres to the Crossroads with the Class III Roads of Eva Junction and Brigstocke Terrace. Turn left at the crossroads and proceed along Brigstocke Terrace for 18 metres to return to a point northeast of Footpath 62/19.
