Carmarthenshire County Council Order Under Section 21 Of The Town Police Clauses Act 1847 For The Prevention Of Obstruction
Reference: HTTR-2068
Whereas on Saturday 11th July 2026 from 11:45 hours to 12:45 hours, Bridge
Street, Kidwelly will be thronged and liable to be obstructed, from its junction with
Station Road to its junction with Porth Y Castell, for a distance of 214 metres in a
North-Westerly then North-Easterly direction, to enable a safe area for Kidwelly
Town Carnival 2026.
The CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL pursuant to powers conferred by
Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 DOES HEREBY ORDER AND
DIRECT that for the purpose of preventing obstruction in the said street, Bridge
Street, Kidwelly shall be closed to all vehicular traffic including pedal cycles on
Saturday 11th July 2026 between the hours of 11:45 and 12:45 hours, subject to
emergency service vehicles being allowed access to the street without delay in the
event of an emergency.
The alternative route for North-Eastbound traffic will be to proceed along Lady
Street, Priory Street, A484 Kidwelly By-Pass and the B4308 Kidwelly to return to a
point North-East of the closure.
The alternative route for South-Westbound traffic will be to proceed along the A484
Kidwelly By-Pass, Priory Street, Abbey Street, Alstred Street and Causeway Street
to return to a point South-East of the closure.
